The Arts Fest at TRK Higher Secondary School, Vaniyamkulam, took place on the 29th and 30th of August. The event saw an overwhelming response, with a large number of students attending, and an even higher number of participants on the second day compared to the first.
The program commenced on the first day with a prayer by a school student, followed by the presidential address delivered by the respected headmaster, Mr. Jagageesh sir. The inauguration was conducted by the esteemed Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer, Ms. Srividya Srinath, who is also an alumna of the school. She inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
The competitions were organized across three stages. On the first stage, the events began with a story speech, followed by competitions in folk music, Oppana, Bharatanatyam, folk dance, and Kuchipudi, which took place on Stage 2. Stage 3 hosted various singing competitions, including classical songs, light music, and patriotic songs. Additionally, Stage 3 featured Malayalam recitation and Maapilapattu competitions. Many students participated across these events and won prizes. Teacher trainees played a significant role in writing certificates, with one of them also serving as a judge for the Maapilapattu competition. The trainees voluntarily assisted in managing the stages and participants.
The second day of the fest featured competitions in Urdu recitation, instrumental music, and group dances. The atmosphere was electric, with more participants in the group dance competition, adding vibrancy to the day. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates, although due to time constraints, not all certificates were distributed, and the remaining ones were postponed to the next working day.
Despite the challenge posed by intermittent rain, which caused some inconvenience for both students and teachers, the two-day Arts Fest was a colorful and successful event, showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of the students and the dedication of the school staff.
